IBPSA Vietnam is the Vietnam affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA).
Who we are
IBPSA Vietnam is the Vietnam affiliate of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA), one of 32 regional affiliates worldwide. Our charter was adopted in 2017. We launched in Hanoi in January 2018 and in Ho Chi Minh City in January 2019.
Members are architects, building services engineers, green building consultants, lecturers and students. What we share: using simulation (energy, heat, ventilation, daylight, microclimate) to make design decisions on evidence rather than intuition.
Mission
Better buildings through simulation: advancing the science and use of building performance simulation to improve the design, construction, operation and maintenance of buildings in Vietnam.
What we do
- Technical sessions: workshops, online talks and introductory courses on energy simulation.
- Knowledge sharing: guides, literature summaries and practical lessons for a hot and humid climate.
- Connections: between academia, consultancies and regulators, in Vietnam and with the global IBPSA community.
- Standards: input on how simulation is used in the national energy code (QCVN 09:2017/BXD, and QCVN 04-3:2026/BXD from 1 February 2027) and green building ratings (LOTUS, LEED, EDGE).
